Two members of the Robson team, Dave Virtue (Estimating Manager) and Rob Forett (Hunter Valley Plant Manager), will soon set off on an incredible challenge — the Ronald McDonald House Ride for Sick Kids. Over five days, they will cycle 500 kilometres from Grafton to Newcastle, raising vital funds to support families with seriously ill or injured children.
Last year, Dave was unable to take part, and Rob stepped in to ride the final day. It was a decision that left a lasting impact. Witnessing the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) up close, and seeing how it eases the burden for families during unimaginably tough times, Rob was inspired to do more. By the end of that day, he had already committed to taking on the full ride in 2025.
For Dave, this year’s ride is a welcome return to the event. A seasoned cyclist, he’s grateful for the opportunity to combine his passion for riding with supporting a cause that means so much to so many.
“It’s an honour to do what I love while helping make a difference in people’s lives,” says Dave.
Both riders are now in training and looking forward to the challenge ahead — knowing that every kilometre they pedal will help keep families close when they need it most.
