Robson’s were engaged by Yancoal to construct a new clean water dam at their Moolarben Coal Complex.
The work comprises of the bulk earthworks and civil works to be undertaken to construct a 500ML dam for capture & containment of clean water from the Murragamba Creek Catchment, above Open Cut OC4.
Highlights
- The use of scrapers on site in lieu of excavator and ADTs resulted in increased earthworks production levels.
- Over 20,000 man hours worked with NIL lost time or first aid injuries recorded.
- NIL environmental incidents or dirty water leaving site recorded. This was highly regarded due to the large amount of rain with over 20 days of inclement weather recorded for the project.
- Completion of the dam was critical to the ongoing operations of Moolarben Coal & Robson successfully delivered the project on time and under budget.
- The client noted they were impressed with Robson’s ability to handover all Quality Assurance documents in a timely manner enabling the dam to be commissioned on time.
- Yancoal noted they were extremely pleased with the way Robson delivered a high quality product with all commercial issues handled in a cooperative and collaborative manner.
